Position Summary

The primary function of this position is to operate X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy and X-ray Diffractometer instruments for analysis requests and provide timely high quality analysis reports to support process qualifications, Fab tool qualifications and mass production yield improvements. This role requires close collaboration with Fab Engineering and Process Integration groups to comprehend customer analysis requirements and to conduct root cause analysis with data interpretation. It also involves the ongoing development of analysis techniques to address the needs of customers involved in advanced technologies.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Responsible for daily XPS and XRD instrument operation, analysis data acquisition, and providing timely, high quality analytical reports for fab process and tool qualification and for investigating process issues.

  • Aid in root cause analysis and provide analysis solution logistics via XPS and XRD.

  • Able to recognize analysis improvement opportunities and lead projects in terms of quality, improving efficiency and adding new capabilities.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

  • B. S. to PhD in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or closely related discipline.

  • 3 years XPS or XRD analysis tool hands-on experience.

  • Expertise in XPS and/or XRD instrument daily operation and data analysis required.

  • Understanding or expertise in other surface analysis techniques.

  • Experience in technical leadership.

  • Knowledge of semiconductor processes and device physics, solid background on materials physics and chemistry. 

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Previous analytical lab experience preferred.

  • Proven analysis accomplishments by recent publications.

  • Excellent problem solving ability.

  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, statistics software.

The current base salary range for this role is between $70,480 - $179,090. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
