Description
The Safety Coordinator supports the implementation and monitoring of the organization's safety programs. This role is responsible for conducting basic safety audits, providing safety training, and assisting in the development of safety policies and procedures. The Safety Coordinator works closely with employees to ensure adherence to safety protocols and helps to identify and address potential hazards.
- Assist manager and coordinators with larger projects and investigationsÂ
- Maintain and update written EHS programs (minor revisions, annual reviews)Â
- Gather data, pull reports, and prep documentation for audits and submissionsÂ
- Track corrective actions and follow up on open itemsÂ
- Serve as liaison between EHS team and other departments (HR, facilities, ops)Â
- Manage contractor safety onboarding and documentationÂ
- Maintain recordkeeping systems (OSHA log, training records, inspection logs)Â
- Coordinate scheduling for drills, training sessions, and inspectionsÂ
- Order and track PPE inventoryÂ
- Focus on daily, routine administrative and safety program elementsÂ
- Perform additional duties as assignedÂ
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (preferably in environmental health and safety)Â
- Entry-level position
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, but not requiredÂ
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards as applicable to manufacturingÂ
- Ability to train, motivate, and influence team membersÂ
