Summary: This position is responsible for organizing, supervising and directing the Materials Handling group engaged in receiving, issuing and delivering supplies and equipment.


Essential Functions of the Job: The essential functions of this job require the person, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the following: 

 

  • Manage, hire, lead, motivate and train the Material Handling Department in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Exhibit confidence in self and staff. Resolve interdepartmental issues, accept feedback and give recognition.


  • Schedule and expedite open material requisitions. Follow up on deliveries with the Warehouse, Planning and Purchasing Departments. 


  • Ensure that receipt and distribution of product occurs in an accurate and timely manner. 


  • Work with other department personnel, such as Production, Quality and Engineering to rectify defective or unacceptable goods. 


  • Arrange for disposal of surplus material.


  • Use the following software programs when performing this job: Shop Floor Control, CAD, MRP II, Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word. 


  • Ensure personnel comply with departmental policies and procedures to support the manufacturing process. 


  • Perform all other duties as assigned. 


Recommended Education and/or Experience  

 

Associates Degree in Manufacturing Technology with a minimum four years related experience.
