• Job Title: CNC Operator
• Department: Machine Shop
• Reports To: Machine Shop Supervisor / Lead Machinist
• Location: Temecula, CA

Role Purpose
 The CNC Operator is responsible for machining parts according to established programs and guidelines provided by the machine shop lead. This role interprets technical drawings and executes CNC programs to produce precision components while maintaining quality, safety, and production standards.

Scope & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
 • Perform assigned duties in accordance with documented procedures and work instructions
 • Machine components using CNC-controlled mills, lathes, and EDM equipment
 • Interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches, and written instructions for fabrication of parts
 • Monitor cutting performance and machine efficiency; identify when adjustments are required
 • Work from production schedules to complete assigned jobs after proper training
 • Interface with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Process Control to ensure high-quality standards
 • Follow all safety procedures, compliance regulations, and shift schedules

Additional Responsibilities:
 • Perform basic machine maintenance (e.g., checking air pressure, refilling way lube)
 • Clean and maintain machinery and work areas (wipe down equipment, sweep/mop floors, empty trash)
 • Organize workspaces and maintain shop cleanliness
 • Prepare materials for upcoming jobs (e.g., cutting copper sheets, lapping workpieces)
 • Re-sharpen tools as needed
 • Assist in other departments or projects as required

Work Experience & Skills

• Education: High school diploma or GED required
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in CNC machining or a related field
• Skills / Knowledge:

  • Experience operating CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and EDM equipment 
  • Familiarity with CNC controls (e.g., Haas, FANUC, Centroid) 
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents 
  • Understanding of machining processes and cutting performance 
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) 
  • Ability to analyze equipment manuals and customer specifications
