POSITION SUMMARY:
Under supervision, the Dishwasher is responsible for washing and sanitizing tableware, pots, pans, and cooking equipment, while keeping the dish pit and all equipment clean, organized, and ready for use.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties represent the core responsibilities of a Dishwasher. Other related duties may be assigned consistent with the nature of this role.
- Load, run and unload the dish machine.Â
- Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately.
- Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
- Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware.
- Keep dish room clean and organized.Â
- Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen.
- Bag and haul dish room trash to dumpster as needed.
- Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
- Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
- Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or lead.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- No previous restaurant experience required.
- Must obtain a Riverside County Food Handler’s Certificate within thirty (30) days of hire.Â

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a commercial restaurant kitchen environment that includes equipment such as walk-in refrigeration units, commercial ovens, stovetops, and grills. Duties may require the handling of knives and other sharp or potentially hazardous kitchen utensils and appliances, and employees are expected to follow all applicable safety protocols. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, stoop, turn, and reach; and use hands, wrists, and arms. and other sharp or potentially hazardous kitchen utensils and appliances, and employees are expected to follow all applicable safety protocols. The employee must be able to communicate effectively and perceive auditory and visual cues in a dynamic environment. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up 40 pounds. This position involves work in both indoor and outdoor environments where temperatures may fluctuate.
