Tasting Room Barback – Part Time

Wilson Creek Winery is a family-owned winery in the heart of Temecula Valley Southern California Wine Country known for its quality wines and warm hospitality. The winery features a welcoming tasting room, full-service restaurant with vineyard view dining and expansive patio, creek side picnic area, indoor and outdoor conference and event spaces, romantic wedding venue and exclusive retreat accommodations.

Wilson Creek Winery & Vineyards is currently looking for a part-time Tasting Room Barback in Temecula, CA.

 

Position Summary:

Under general supervision, the Tasting Room Barback is responsible for the set up and break down of bars, stocking bars with wine, and assisting the Tasting Room Server when needed.

 

This is a part-time, on-site role in Temecula, California.


Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs.
  • Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times by providing excellent guest service.
  • Be knowledgeable of A.B.C. laws and guest compliance.
  • Setting up and taking down of bar.
  • Assists guests and staff with case carry outs.
  • Completes stocking of products ensuring the display is easily accessible and visible.
  • Assist servers and cashiers with any needs specific to bar or guest needs.
  • Build rapport with guests to ensure guest retention.
  • Selling of wine club memberships, wine products, featured wines, and merchandise.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

 

What It Takes To Succeed

 

  • You have a minimum of six (6) months’ experience in customer service.
  • Be 21 years of age.
  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the area. 
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Possess excellent basic math skills and can operate a cash register or POS system.
  • Must have excellent guest service skills with professional appearance and outstanding communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.  
  • Must obtain a Riverside Country Food Handler’s Card within thirty (30) days of hire. 
  • Must obtain a RBS Certificate within sixty (60) days of hire.

Physical Demands: 


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands, wrists, arms, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is most often required to stand and walk on stairs, grass and the entire property of the winery. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment


While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in typical conditions of a bar with equipment such as glasses, wine openers, bottles, and sinks.  The environment may at times consist of high-volume Noise level and large groups of people which results in a fast paced, crowded work area. Employees may encounter wet floors, broken glass, intoxicated guests, and extreme temperatures. This position will also require you to stand for up to 8 hours at a time.
