SUMMARY Â
Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Business Development Executive with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are vital, with attention to detail equally important. The Business Development Executive will partner with business unit market leaders in developing and supporting positioning strategies with existing and potential customers to win project work.Â

RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
- Manage the positioning activities of the business development teamÂ
- Participate in strategic business planning; developing strategic positioning plan for company and project pursuits to win work Â
- Create and produce internal and external communications, marketing/branding/advertising materials and presentationsÂ
- Coordinate prequalification efforts with targeted customers and partnersÂ
- Initiate customer feedback on proposals and presentationsÂ
- Function as the liaison between business development, pre-construction, and marketingÂ
- Provide insight into market sectors; perform market trends analysisÂ
- Establish and nurture strategic business partnerships and customer relationshipsÂ
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential partners including, but not limited to: targeted customers, design professionals, partner companies, community leaders, utilities, equipment manufacturers, and engineering firmsÂ
- Identify new market sector opportunities and potential future customers and convert them to contacts for market sector leaders Â
- Become familiar with customer’s project estimates to facilitate discussion with customerÂ
- Complete Request for Proposals with 100% accuracy and compliance with the owner’s specificationsÂ
- Play an integral role with the development team Â
- Take work direction, utilize training, and complete performance reviewsÂ
- Use the appropriate level of forethought and planning in decision making to assure project successÂ

QUALIFICATIONSÂ
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field Â
- Proven customer relationship building skills, with developed local/regional business knowledge and relationshipsÂ
- Proven knowledge and execution of successful marketing strategiesÂ
- Detail orientation sufficient for data entry, reporting, financial projections for sales and selections, and market analysisÂ
- Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent CRM web application skillsÂ
- Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skillsÂ
- Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies Â
- Minimum 10 years prior industry-related business development experienceÂ
- Current driver’s licenseÂ
- Travel of up to 30% of the time may be necessary to fulfill the objectives of the positionÂ

The base pay range for this role is $168,100 MIN - $252,200 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Â

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.Â
