JOB SUMMARYĀ 
The Site Safety Representative acts as a dual-purpose champion for both operational integrity and external relations. This role is uniquely designed to balance 50% proactive safety leadership and 50% high-level customer service. You will be the face of Martin Marietta on-site, ensuring that every employee returns home safely while simultaneously ensuring that every customer, vendor, and contractor receives world-class service. By merging technical safetyĀ expertiseĀ with a "customer-first" mindset, you willĀ facilitateĀ a culture where compliance and excellence in service goĀ hand-in-hand.Ā 
KEYĀ DUTIESĀ ANDĀ RESPONSIBILITIESĀ 
  • Ensure site-wide adherence to OSHA and Martin Marietta’s internal "Guardian Angel" safety standards.Ā 
  • Conduct daily "high-visibility" safety walks and inspections toĀ identifyĀ and mitigate physical and behavioral hazards.Ā 
  • Lead the reporting and investigation of any near-misses or incidents, performing root-causeĀ analysis,Ā and implementing corrective actions.Ā 
  • Review truck washout areas for adequate drainage, walking surface, tracking pad, and lighting.Ā 
  • Facilitate site-specific safety orientations for new hires, contractors, and visitors, ensuring they are fully equipped to work safely inĀ anĀ asphalt/industrial environment.Ā 
  • Oversee the inspection and maintenance of safety equipment, including PPE, fire suppression systems, and first-aid supplies.Ā 
  • AssistĀ management in developing and updating Safe Operating Procedures based on evolving site needs.Ā 
  • Facilitate and organize in-house safety meetings.Ā 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and haulage contractors, resolvingĀ logisticsĀ issues or site access concerns with professionalism and urgency.Ā 
  • Maximize delivery efficiencies through customer focused coordination of site related events.Ā 
  • Anticipate the relocation of concrete placementĀ pumps, areas of congestion, and communication with central dispatch as it pertains to the customer’s unload rate, agreed upon ā€œholdā€ volumes and/or order back yardage.Ā 
  • Manage the check-in process for all external parties, ensuring a seamless, welcoming, and safe transition from the gate to the loading zone.Ā 
  • Mediate and resolve any disputes or service delays on-site, ensuring customers feel valued even during high-traffic or operational challenges.Ā 
  • Represent Martin Marietta’s values in every interaction, building long-term trust with local vendors and community stakeholders.Ā 
  • Act as a bridge between the sales team and site operations, providing real-time updates to customersĀ regardingĀ product availability and loading times.Ā 
  • Proactively gather customer feedbackĀ regardingĀ site efficiency and safety, reporting insights to the management team to drive continuous improvement.Ā 
QUALIFICATIONSĀ 
EducationĀ 
High school diploma, GED, or relevant experienceĀ 
ACI Field Testing Level I CertificationĀ is highlyĀ preferred.Ā 
Work ExperienceĀ 
1+ years of experienceĀ in Construction, Heavy Building Material, or Asphalt isĀ required; 2+ years of Asphalt focused experience is preferred.Ā

Physical RequirementsĀ 
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50Ā lbs.Ā for plant maintenance and equipment servicing.Ā 
Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach. You must be able toĀ maintainĀ three points of contact when climbing on/off machinery or on ladders.Ā 
Strong hand-eye-foot coordination is essential for operating hand/foot controls. You must have good depthĀ perceptionĀ with or without seeing aid for distances up to 150 feet.Ā 
Working ConditionsĀ 
All duties require outside assignmentsĀ and requireĀ periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold,Ā wetĀ or dry, and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs.Ā
