Graduate Counseling Faculty – Phoenix, Arizona

The University of Mary invites applications for a full-time, 11-month faculty position at its Photina Center for Catholic Counseling, an initiative with the Diocese of Phoenix to prepare mental health professionals grounded in Catholic anthropology and the dignity of the human person.  

This position is located in Phoenix, Arizona and includes both in-person and online teaching, as well as advising responsibilities within the Graduate Counseling Program. The successful candidate will report to the Chair of the Graduate Counseling Program in the Liffrig Family School of Education and Behavioral Sciences (based in Bismarck, ND) and will collaborate remotely with faculty in Bismarck and other locations to support programmatic planning and ensure alignment with CACREP accreditation standards.
Preferred start date is May 2026.

All faculty members are expected to demonstrate a willingness to support and advance the Christian, Catholic, and Benedictine mission and identity of the University of Mary (see https://www.umary.edu/about/mission-identity).

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Clinical Psychology
  • Upholds and supports the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary
  • Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities
  • Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Liffrig Family School of Education and Behavioral Sciences and throughout the university, in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision from a CACREP Accredited Institution
  • Experience in teaching online
  • Ability to teach coursework for the Catholic Anthropology for Counselors Graduate Certificate
