What will my role entail in the position Summary?

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Life Safety Inspection/Service Helper to join our team.


 The Life Safety Inspection/Service Helper is responsible for supporting daily operations within the Life safety department. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient workflows, high-quality service delivery. The Life Safety Service Helper supports Life Safety Service Technicians in the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of life safety systems. This entry-level position assists with fieldwork, equipment handling, documentation, and job site preparation while learning industry standards, codes, and safety practices related to fire alarm, fire sprinkler, and other life safety systems.

Key Responsibilities: List the essential duties of the position.

  • Assist Life Safety Service Technicians with inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs of life safety systems, including fire alarm, fire sprinkler, emergency lighting, and related equipment
  • Prepare job sites by organizing tools, materials, and equipment
  • Perform basic system testing under supervision
  • Label devices, pull wire, mount devices, and assist with system cleanup
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and assist with completing inspection reports
  • Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and materials to job sites
  • Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and applicable codes and regulations
  • Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors
  • Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and job site
  • Attend training sessions and work toward required certifications as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications: List of the minimum qualifications needed to perform the job.

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous construction, electrical, or mechanical experience preferred but not required
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn life safety systems and industry standards

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer or mobile device skills for documentation
  • Ability to manage time effectively and follow schedules
  • Mechanical aptitude a plus

Work Environment & Physical Requirements (If applicable)

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Construction sites, commercial buildings, and customer facilities
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and active work environments
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
