Summary

The Enterprise SAP Integration Architect is responsible for defining and executing the enterprise integration strategy across SAP and non-SAP platforms, including SAP S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, payroll systems, customer experience applications, and third-party vendor ecosystems. This role provides architectural leadership for enterprise-wide integration, establishes integration standards and governance, drives modernization through API-led and event-driven architectures, and ensures secure, scalable, and reliable integration solutions that support business objectives and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership & Architecture

  • Define and drive the enterprise integration strategy for SAP, SuccessFactors, Payroll, Customer platforms, and external vendor ecosystems, ensuring alignment with business and technology roadmaps.
  • Serve as the enterprise authority for SAP integrations, APIs, middleware, event-driven architecture, and cloud connectivity.
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to align integration capabilities with enterprise goals.
  • Establish integration standards, governance frameworks, and reference architectures.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize legacy integrations, reduce technical debt, and improve scalability and operational efficiency.
  • Research and evaluate emerging AI capabilities, integration technologies, and industry best practices to accelerate delivery and improve operational readiness.

SAP Transformation & Integration Architecture

  • Design and govern integrations supporting SAP S/4HANA, SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central, Payroll systems, Customer Experience applications, and external vendors requiring secure data exchange and business process integration.

 

  • Define integration patterns and migration strategies for APIs, interfaces, EDI, middleware, and external system connectivity.
  • Design and govern end-to-end integration solutions across SAP, cloud, SaaS, data platforms, and third-party applications.
  • Establish API-first, event-driven, and service-oriented integration patterns supporting real-time, batch, and hybrid scenarios.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and application teams to ensure alignment with enterprise technology standards.

Technical Governance & Delivery

  • Establish development standards, design principles, operational procedures, and quality practices for integration solutions.
  • Provide expertise in SAP Integration Suite, CPI, API Management, Event Mesh, SAP BTP, OData, REST, SOAP, EDI, IDocs, RFC/BAPI, and related middleware technologies.
  • Conduct architecture reviews and oversee technical deliverables from internal teams, implementation partners, and vendors.
  • Ensure integration solutions comply with security, privacy, regulatory, and operational requirements.

Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Mentor integration architects, developers, and technical teams while promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Lead technical reviews, architecture forums, and integration governance activities.
  • Ensure reliability, performance, monitoring, supportability, and operational readiness of enterprise integration platforms.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison for business stakeholders, SAP implementation partners, and strategic vendors.
  • Communicate integration strategies, risks, and recommendations to leadership and project teams.

Education

A bachelor's degree relevant to the assignment from an accredited institution is preferred.

Experience

  • 12+ years of enterprise integration architecture, design, and implementation experience.
  • 7+ years of SAP integration experience across SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, and related technologies.
  • 5+ years in an Integration Architect, Enterprise Architect, Solution Architect, or technical leadership role.
  • Experience leading SAP S/4HANA migration, implementation, or modernization programs.
  • Strong experience with API-led, event-driven, and hybrid integration architectures.
  • Expertise with SAP Integration Suite, CPI, API Management, Event Mesh, and SAP BTP services.
  • Hands-on experience with REST APIs, OData, SOAP, EDI, IDocs, RFCs/BAPIs, and middleware technologies.
  • Experience establishing integration governance frameworks and architectural standards.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and mentoring skills.

Additional Requirements and Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP S/4HANA implementation or migration experience.
  • SAP Integration Suite and/or SAP BTP certifications.
  • Experience with Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica, or similar integration platforms.
  • Knowledge of SAP Clean Core and extensibility strategies.
  • Experience integrating SAP with Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow, Microsoft Dynamics, and other SaaS platforms.
  • TOGAF, SAP, or Enterprise Architecture certifications.

Hybrid Workplace

SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
