Job Summary: The Injection Molding Process Technician is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the injection molding processes to ensure the production of high-quality plastic parts and components. This role involves setting up and maintaining molding machines, troubleshooting process issues, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality. 
Key Responsibilities: 
- Process Setup and Optimization: 
- Set up and adjust injection molding machines and equipment for production runs, including configuring settings such as temperature, pressure, and cycle times. 
- Optimize molding processes to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality. 
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: 
- Diagnose and resolve issues with injection molding machines, molds, and processes to minimize downtime and production disruptions. 
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machines and equipment, and coordinate with maintenance teams for major repairs. 
- Quality Control: 
- Monitor production runs to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications. 
- Conduct regular inspections and measurements of molded parts, and implement corrective actions to address any defects or inconsistencies. 
- Process Improvement: 
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement in the molding process. 
- Implement process changes and enhancements to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve product consistency. 
- Documentation and Reporting: 
- Maintain accurate records of process setups, adjustments, and production data. 
- Prepare and submit reports on process performance, issues, and improvements. 
- Training and Support: 
- Train and assist production staff on proper machine operation, process adjustments, and troubleshooting techniques. 
- Provide technical support and guidance to ensure smooth operation and adherence to process standards. 
- Safety and Compliance: 
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. 
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. 
Qualifications: 
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in injection molding or a related field is preferred. 
- Proven experience as a process technician or in a similar role within an injection molding environment. 
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. 
- Familiarity with injection molding processes, equipment, and quality control standards. 
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and specifications. 
Preferred Skills: 
- Certification or training in injection molding processes and technology. 
- Experience with different types of injection molding machines and technologies. 
Working Conditions: 
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and equipment. 
- May involve standing for extended periods, lifting materials, and working in varying temperatures.
