The Field Service Engineer is responsible for ensuring maximum productivity by keeping customer’s equipment in optimum working condition. The Field Service Engineer will also provide technical support and troubleshooting for customers and company personnel.
- Perform on-site installation, training, preventive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of complex laser sources and optical systems in a professional manner. Â
- Coordinating with the IPG factory technical support team and product engineers, you will troubleshoot and diagnose product issues directly with customers. This may at times be remote sessions with customers.
- Provide remote service and visual support as required to ensure optimal product performanceÂ
- Advise management on customer satisfaction, product quality/reliability, and potential product improvement ideasÂ
- Support sales related activities and customer communication as neededÂ
- Provide preventative maintenance recommendations.
- Performs other related work and special projects
Education:
- Two-year degree.
- Associate's degree, technical certificate/degree, or technical equivalent
- 3-5 years of laser, photonics or other sophisticated capital equipment field service experience

Experience:
- Two years’ extensive diagnostics experience - debugging, troubleshooting integrated components and systems specifically in the areas of computer controlled electro-mechanical and electronic equipment is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Travel:
- Up to 80% of travel may be required depending upon customer needs. May include weekends at times.
- Valid driver’s license required

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
