Job Details:

SUMMARY:

This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth day-to-day activities and driving future improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor Daily Operations: Supervise and manage the daily activities within the hatchery.
  • Strategic Planning: Formulate and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Documentation: Complete chick delivery sheets, flock pull sheets, and mortality charts. Maintain logs for each truck, including miles and hours worked by each driver.
  • Logistics Coordination: Ensure timely movement of chicks to farms according to the shipment schedule.
  • Equipment Monitoring: Oversee the incubation, hatchery, and environmental control equipment.
  • Personnel Supervision: Lead and supervise hatchery personnel on a daily basis.
  • Egg Grading: Grade fleets of eggs from hen farms.
  • Vaccine Preparation: Prepare vaccines for the chickens.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as needed and as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

  • Education: Requires education beyond high school, including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills are required.
  • Travel: Occasional travel, approximately 1-2 times per year.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a single department or work unit who perform similar and/or interrelated tasks and activities.
