Construction Estimator

BDI Marine Contractors, LLC is a growing, family-owned construction company specializing in marine construction, concrete, site work, and heavy civil projects. We are looking to add a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to our team.

The ideal candidate will assist with preparing accurate estimates, reviewing bid documents, performing takeoffs, communicating with vendors and subcontractors, and supporting the bidding process from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform quantity takeoffs for marine, concrete, site work, and heavy civil projects
• Prepare cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor work
• Request and review pricing from vendors and subcontractors
• Assist with bid proposals, scope reviews, and project documentation
• Communicate with project managers, superintendents, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Track bid deadlines and help maintain organized estimating files
• Identify potential project risks, missing information, or scope gaps
• Assist with change order pricing as needed
• Support the team with administrative and project-related tasks when necessary

Qualifications

• Construction estimating experience preferred
• Experience with marine construction, concrete, site work, or heavy civil construction is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Strong math, computer, and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage deadlines
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficient with email, Microsoft Office, and basic computer programs
• Valid driver’s license preferred

Preferred Experience

• Construction estimating: 1 year preferred
• Plan reading/takeoff experience preferred
• Heavy civil, marine, concrete, or site work experience is a plus
