Position Overview

The Accountant is responsible for supporting various aspects of the financial and accounting activities of the company. This role works alongside and supports the Accounting Manager in general ledgers, reconciliation, billing activities such as accounts receivable and payable, inventory analysis, maintenance of schedules and supporting documents and other duties assuring performance in accordance with IFRS and internal policies and procedures. 
Location

Tewksbury, MA. This is an on-site position, five days per week in the office (Monday – Friday, 8:00am-12:00pm).

Key Responsibilities 

  • Supports monthly, quarterly and annual close activities ensuring timely and accurate reporting
  • Assists the accounting department with all revenue-related tasks, including sales, invoicing, and related inquiries
  • Prepares and posts journal entries, maintaining organized records and documentation for all financial transactions
  • Performs accounts receivable and accounts payable activities, including cash applications and payment processing
  • Supports and performs general accounts analyses and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employer benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses
  • Processes expense allocations, monthly accruals, fixed asset depreciation, and perform adjusting or reclassification journal entries as needed
  • Monitors and analyzes accounting data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with IFRS, regulations, and Mycronic’s internal controls
  • Prepares and maintains audit and tax documentation, supporting both internal and external audits as required
  • Identifies and investigates financial variances, resolving discrepancies and implementing corrective actions to enhance process efficiency
  • Performs other general accounting duties as assigned

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business 
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Must be comfortable working independently as well as with others, operate effectively in a team environment- including your direct team and other company staff, as well as customer teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as problem solving and identification (i.e., cost analysis) are essential

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Standard office environment. Significant computer work should be expected.
