Position Summary:

Linde Gas is seeking a proactive and results-driven Reliability Engineer to support HyCO’s (Hydrogen and Carbon Monoxide) operating plants based out of the Texas City, TX facility. As our Reliability Engineer, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our fixed and rotating equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. Using your engineering expertise, you’ll spearhead projects, analyze performance data, and proactively address maintenance and operational challenges. This role allows you to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams, leveraging your technical edge to make data-driven decisions that enhance plant safety, reliability, and overall performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform failure analysis and RCAs on equipment failures. Develop corrective actions and track results.

  • Champion standard practices for preventive (PM) and predictive (PdM) maintenance processes at responsible sites.

  • Develop maintenance procedures and PMs to improve equipment performance and reliability while minimizing repair costs.

  • Review results of predictive programs (i.e. oil analysis, vibration routes) to monitor equipment health, predict failures, and optimize maintenance frequency.

  • Develop and implement equipment maintenance strategies in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts.

  • Perform inspections and support troubleshooting activities on mechanical equipment to improve plant safety, reliability, and overall performance.

  • Identify and manage a list of threats/bad actors and drives short term and long-term improvement plans.

  • Generate project initiation requests (PIRs) and be a scope lead to eliminate those bad actors.

  • Perform quarterly thermography scans of refractory-lined equipment and issue recommendations as needed.



Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of industry experience in equipment reliability or maintenance engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in implementing and improving PM/PdM programs utilizing maintenance best practices.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills, with an ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Proven aptitude for multitasking and prioritizing assignments to meet competing deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and driven to make an impact.

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in Hydrogen or CO Production Facility
  • Vibration Analysis Certification (CAT 1 or 2)
  • Machinery Lubrication Level 1
  • Infrared Thermography Certification
  • Reciprocating Compressor Condition Monitoring experience and/or certification

 

Travel & Work Schedule:

  • This position is responsible for facilities located in Texas City, TX, Sweeny, TX, Freeport TX, Decatur, AL and Charleston, TN.
  • Occasional travel to nearby Linde facilities for maintenance support and reliability audits.
  • Ability to travel 15%25 of the time.
  • May be required to respond to site issues outside of standard hours based on operational needs.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be scheduled during planned outages or emergency repairs.
