General Manager Barbershop & Bar - The Colony, TX

$100,000 Guaranteed Your First Year

Scissors & Scotch is a barbershop and bar. We’re upscale but not uptight. The goal is a great haircut plus that “Cheers” feeling where everyone knows your name.

Our The Colony shop is open, running, and doing a fraction of what it should. We want the person who reads that and thinks “give me twelve months!”

The Money

Your first year is guaranteed at $100,000. You earn commission, tips, and bonuses. If they total less than $100,000, we cover the difference. Above $100,000, there is no ceiling to your earnings.

What We Need You to Be Able to Do

Show proof of these:

  • Take a shop with untapped potential and dramatically grow it inside twelve months. Ideally, we want to see that you doubled a location’s revenue.
  • Build a book from scratch, fast (and teach others how to build one as well). You are behind the chair 25–30 hours a week to start. As the shop grows your cutting hours drop to accommodate managing a larger staff.
  • Proactively recruit stylists who already have options, then be the reason they stay. Checking Indeed is not enough. We want examples of how you actively sought out talented stylists and barbers and brought them onto your team.
  • Turn a haircut into a membership 50% of the time. If you see 10 clients, 5 immediately become members. Then, teach your team to do the same thing.
  • Make the bar feel like Cheers while training the bar team to sell memberships.
  • Build two AGMs and a Bar/Lounge Lead who can run this shop without you.
  • Read Monday’s numbers and change behavior by Wednesday.
  • Hold a standard every day without becoming the villain. This requires interpersonal skills and the ability to have respectful but challenging conversations without driving people away.
  • Do the right thing (this is our first Core Principle). Don’t be a jerk. Work harder and smarter than anyone else.

How We’ll Know You’re Winning

  • Shop and bar revenue growth.
  • Net membership growth.
  • New-client pre-book rate.
  • A full roster with low turnover.
  • Strong bar revenue and retail sales per appointment.
  • Two AGMs who can run the place when you’re off.
  • A culture both clients and staff talk about when you’re not around

What You Need on Paper

  • An active Texas cosmetology or barber license.
  • Proof of successful past leadership at a salon or barbershop.
  • Membership experience, P&L ownership, and turnaround experience are all major pluses.

Pay & Benefits

  • $100,000 guaranteed in year one, uncapped above it.
  • Bonuses tied to revenue and membership growth.
  • Health, dental, vision.
  • Paid time off.
  • Closed on major holidays.
  • Paid leadership training and mentorship.
  • A real path to multi-shop and regional roles.

How to Apply
