Assistant Maintenance Director
Full-Time ~ The Dalles

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Maintenance Director with the daily operation of the Maintenance Department.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on facility systems and equipment.
  • Maintain and repair HVAC, plumbing, and other building systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair commercial kitchen and laundry equipment.
  • Ensure medical equipment, including oxygen concentrators and vital signs machines, is operational and available for nursing staff.
  • Complete general building maintenance, including wall, floor, and facility repairs.
  • Respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Assist with the supervision, coordination, and development of maintenance personnel.
  • Provide direction to maintenance staff in the absence of the Maintenance Director.
  • Promote a safe, productive, and team-oriented work environment.

Qualifications ️

⚙️Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a maintenance or facilities environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical system manuals and blueprints.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

⚙️Preferred Skills

  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems.
  • Plumbing maintenance and repair experience.
  • Knowledge of low-voltage control systems and equipment.
  • Experience repairing commercial kitchen appliances, washers, and dryers.
  • General building maintenance, including wall and floor repair.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience.
