Prep Cook- Dietary
Full-Time, 5:30am - 2:00pm, Thursday-Sunday (Mon-Wed off)
5:30am - 2:00pm, Thursday-Sunday (Mon-Wed off)
$17.54-$20.50 per hour (DOE)
General Position Summary:
The Prep Cook is responsible for providing special snacks, smoothies, and other items for residents. The Prep Cook will assist the Cook with any preparation they may need to complete their meals. Prep Cook is responsible for stocking and providing snacks on all kitchenettes in the building. Also responsible for keeping a clean, neat, and safe work environment while producing tasteful snacks for the residents of the Oregon Veterans Home.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
- Safely prepare all snacks/meals for the Oregon Veterans Home residents
- Follow recipes for menus
- Keep a clean, neat work area
- Must have the ability to problem solve and substitute supplies and/or menu items as instructed by supervisor
- Keep supervisor informed of supply needs
- Follow directions on tray cards for specific therapeutic diets and textures for residents
- Remain up to date and knowledgeable of specific diets/textures for all residents
- Restock pantry and snack items
- Deep clean

Requirements ️
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to pass background check
- High School Graduate or GED
- Minimum 1 year experience in long term care cooking work environment preferred but not required
