Job Description

As a Construction Manager - Land Development in our Construction Administration Department at CFB, you will take a leadership role in overseeing the review and evaluation of completed civil engineering construction projects. This position focuses on ensuring that constructed improvements are consistent with approved engineering plans, specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements. You will collaborate closely with contractors, engineers, inspectors, project managers, and other stakeholders to identify deficiencies, address outstanding items, and support successful project closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate post-construction review and construction administration activities across multiple civil engineering and land development projects
  • Review completed construction improvements for compliance with approved engineering plans, specifications, and applicable regulatory standards
  • Lead and provide technical guidance to field teams and inspectors conducting site reviews, inspections, and evaluations of completed work
  • Review inspection reports, field documentation, photographs, as-built information, and other project records to identify deficiencies or outstanding construction items
  • Communicate regularly with contractors, design professionals, project managers, and directors to resolve construction-related issues and facilitate completion of outstanding items
  • Evaluate field conditions and completed improvements to determine whether work has been constructed in accordance with approved plans and specifications
  • Participate in project closeout activities, including final inspections, punch lists, documentation review, and recommendations for project acceptance
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations regarding field changes, construction deficiencies, and plan compliance
  • Assist with identifying trends, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve construction quality and project delivery

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager overseeing civil engineering projects
  • Strong understanding of construction standards, land development, and engineering design
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills in managing field changes
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and external partners
