This role involves managing staff, ensuring high standards of inventory and merchandising, maintaining compliance with safety and food regulations, and delivering excellent customer service to enhance the shopping experience and drive the department’s profitability. Key Responsibilities: - Manage the daily operations of the grocery department to ensure efficiency and productivity. - Supervise, train, and develop grocery department staff to achieve high performance and engagement. - Oversee inventory management, including ordering, stock rotation, and ensuring adequate product availability. - Maintain cleanliness and merchandising standards to create an appealing shopping environment. - Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues to ensure customer satisfaction. - Track sales and profitability, analyzing data to make informed decisions to improve department performance. - Ensure compliance with all safety and food regulations, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment. - Collaborate with other departments to achieve overall store goals and objectives. QualificationsRequired Education: - High school diploma or GED Preferred Education: - Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, retail management, or food service management Required Experience: - 3–5 years in retail or grocery, preferably in a grocery department Preferred Experience: - 1–2 years of supervisory or management experience - Experience with inventory management, ordering, and merchandising - Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance Required Skills and Abilities: - Leadership and team management - Customer service and problem-solving - Inventory control, ordering, and stock rotation - Knowledge of grocery products and merchandising - Organizational and time-management - Communication - Physical stamina - Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
