This Security Manager role offers the opportunity to lead and support a small, dedicated hospital security team in a rural healthcare setting while making a meaningful impact on the safety of patients, staff, and visitors. The position is mission‑driven and closely aligned with supporting quality patient care by maintaining a safe, welcoming, and healing environment. This role provides hands‑on leadership with direct responsibility for daily operations, team development, and involvement in facility safety and security programs, including incident response, emergency preparedness, workplace violence prevention, and regulatory readiness. The Security Manager serves as a key partner to hospital leadership and a primary liaison to local law enforcement and emergency responders, with the ability to influence policies, improve practices, and tailor solutions to the unique needs of a rural hospital. This role offers strong community connections, professional influence, and a balanced, sustainable work environment.Summary
Provides supervision and leadership of the day-to-day operation of the security program and assure the quality of the daily work of Security personnel.Job Description
Establishes a safe and secure environment for Sanford facilities utilizing internal security services through the use of established policies, guidelines and protocols. Performs job functions of Security Officers as needed. Maintain good working relationships with local law enforcement officers.Qualifications
Two years vocational or college training courses in criminal justice or equivalent experience in the security industry preferred or three years experience in the security industry with demonstrated supervisory/leadership skills.May require a current valid driver's license with Sanford Insurability dependent upon region. Supervisor certification by International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety required within one year of hire. Timelines for completion of all levels of IAHSS Certifications to be determined upon hire.
