About the Role:

The EMT (Security Responder) at Northeast Fire-Rescue plays a vital role in providing emergency medical assistance while ensuring a secure environment. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality EMS services, maintaining safety protocols, and supporting security operations to protect personnel and the community. The successful candidate will work closely with fire, medical, and security teams to respond effectively to emergency situations and uphold the safety standards of Northeast Fire-Rescue.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid CT EMT-Basic certification
  • Valid CPR certification
  • FEMA 100, 200, 700, 800
  • Ability to work in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug test
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiastic and coachable

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in patient care and medical operations
  • Documentation knowledge
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours (11pm-7am schedule)

Responsibilities:

  • Responding to emergency calls and providing medical treatment to patients
  • Assessing patients' conditions and determining the appropriate course of action
  • Transporting patients to medical facilities for further treatment
  • Monitor and maintain a secure environment on premises
  • Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies
  • Collaborate with fire, police, and medical teams during critical incidents
  • Complete incident reports and documentation accurately
  • Assist with safety and security protocols enforcement
  • Maintaining accurate records of patient care and treatment
  • Collaborating with other medical professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients

Skills:

As an Emergency Medical Technician, you will use your skills in patient care, medical operations, and infection control on a daily basis. You will need to be able to think quickly and make critical decisions in high-pressure situations.
