Summary

Under general supervision, provides general direct nursing care to injured, ill, convalescent or disabled individuals. Care includes providing medical treatments, administering medication and giving injections.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing assessments on the individuals daily and as needed related to changes in behavior/symptoms and notifying appropriate staff of changes in behavior/symptoms.

• Responsible for completing required documentation for services rendered by utilizing the recognizable and acceptable documentation formats for nursing assessments, ensuring that documentation reflects the individual's treatment goals and objectives.

• Responsible for ensuring that all medication errors are well documented and passed on the Lead Nurse.

• Responsible for relaying needed information to psychiatric staff, reporting sudden/new changes in individual's behavior to appropriate staff; communicate pertinent information to the RN for continuity of care.

• Responsible for collecting blood and other laboratory specimens and waived testing, ensuring that lab logs are maintained and that lab draws/waived testing/results are documented correctly in the EHR.

• Other assigned duties as directed and maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Vocational / Technical degree from an accredited college AND current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse AND six months of nursing experience.

• Note: Some positions require a valid Georgia's Driver's License.

Physical Demands may include

• Ability to lift and carry up to 25/50 lbs.

• Sitting, standing and/or walking, pushing/pulling, handling, reaching, bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, squatting, climbing (ladders or stairs), overhead reaching.
