Cook

The Cook assists in preparation of foods for residents and personnel; participates in supervision and instruction of Food Service Aides on their shifts; maintains high standards of sanitation and food handling in their work area.

Minimal Education:

          High school diploma or G.E.D. required.  

Minimal Experience:

1.  Six months food preparation experience in a hospital, institutional or restaurant preferred. 

2.       Experience in long term care or health care is preferred.

Other Qualifications:

1. Certification as a ServSafe Food Protection Manager preferred.

2. Ability to read and follow recipes, ability to write, add and subtract.

3. Must have good organization skills and be creative.

4. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and accept responsibility for the  accuracy and quality of work performed.
