About the Role:

The Inventory Specialist plays a critical role in managing and maintaining accurate inventory records to ensure seamless supply chain operations. This position is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of products, ensuring that inventory levels are optimized to meet business demands without overstocking or stockouts. The Inventory Specialist collaborates closely with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to forecast inventory needs and resolve discrepancies. By implementing effective inventory control procedures, this role helps minimize losses and improve overall operational efficiency. Ultimately, the Inventory Specialist ensures that the right products are available at the right time, supporting customer satisfaction and business growth.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory management or a related field.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform physical inventory counts and handle warehouse operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and logistics principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification in inventory management or supply chain (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software and systems.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and system records.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to manage stock levels and reorder points.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances, including damaged, lost, or misplaced items.
  • Prepare detailed reports on inventory status, trends, and forecasts to support decision-making.
  • Implement and improve inventory control procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product availability and timely delivery.
  • Assist in training staff on inventory processes and best practices.
