E&K is seeking a Traveling Construction Project Engineer. Based out of Denver, Colorado, this position offers the opportunity to travel throughout the US (up to 75%) while supporting high-profile specialty construction projects from preconstruction through close-out. This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented construction professional who wants hands-on experience on impactful projects while working alongside experienced industry professionals. 

 

As a Traveling Project Engineer, you’ll gain exposure to every phase of a project lifecycle, from preconstruction through close-out, while helping deliver high-quality interior specialty construction projects safely, on time, and on budget.

 

Job Duties:

  • Project Coordination and Document Control:
    • Contract document management including but not limited to updating contract drawings and specifications, RFI and change management (i.e. ASIs, Bulletins, RFQs) and submittals. 
    • Maintain organized project documentation using company systems and databases.
  • Project Support and Cost Management:
    • Assist with project forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis.
    • Support change order takeoff / pricing.
    • Research and cost analysis of new products and manufacturers.
  • Procurement and Subcontractor Coordination:
    • Solicit and compare quotes from suppliers, vendors and Subcontractors.
    • Assist with documentation and compliance requirements as applicable.
  • Construction Administration:
    • Prepare comprehensive submittal packages including cover sheets, product data, maintenance information, SDS sheets, LEED letters, and shop drawings.
    • Draft and submit RFIs (Requests for Information).
    • Support quality assurance and project close-out initiatives
  • Field and Jobsite Engagement:
    • Collaborate with project teams, office personnel, field teams, and others affiliated with the project.
    • Participate in site visits, coordination meetings, project planning activities, and jobsite trainings and initiatives.
    • Support a culture where projects are executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with contract requirements.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience in commercial construction, specialty construction, engineering, project coordination, or a related field required. 
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fiel strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Ability to understand construction drawings, blueprints / plans, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Experience with specialty construction products and construction trades is strongly preferred.
  • Must possess strong mathematical and analytical skills as well as problem solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational and document management skills required.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills in written and verbal form with people in all roles (from field trades to executives) and backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and travel.
  • Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time.

 

 

Pay Range: $75,000 - $125,000

 

Work Environment

This role combines office-based project management responsibilities with regular exposure to active construction sites. Candidates must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and adhering to all project safety requirements and PPE standards.
