JOB PURPOSE or JOB DESCRIPTION:
Create and modify 3D product models within a comprehensive enterprise manufacturing system. Collaborate with Project Management, Design, Drafting and Engineering to ensure alignment with product specifications and customer expectations. Provide technical support to both customers and internal stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Product Desing Engineering Technicians and in day-to-day tasks and validation of their work.
- Advanced designing of cabinet models.
- Update engineering system databases, incorporating product design changes to ensure processes meet product and quality specifications.
- SOP development for processes within the department, maintain standard prints and reference drawings for internal and vendor use.
- Ensure cabinet components, tops, hardware, and program databases that support product programming and design are updated with current and accurate information.
- Test new cabinet configurations to ensure programming is functioning properly and quality specifications are met.
- Assign feature/option sets to product configurations.
- Work with Project Managers, Designers, and Drafters to ensure cabinet designs meet company standards and satisfy customer requirements.
- Collaborate with production staff and quality to investigate non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions to eliminate future occurrences.
- Maintain or create a bill of materials for standard or modified products, including creating part numbers for new items.
- Prioritize and organize work ensuring that tasks are successfully completed within defined timeframes and meet predetermined deadlines.
- Create, revise and maintain 3D models prints. reference drawings and logs for production, project work, product development drawings and R&D.
- ECR (Engineering Change Request) management.
- Work with Product Design Engineering Architects to ensure process or product changes are developed within the systems.
- Assist Product Development and R&D when needed to help conceptualize and prototype new ideas.
- Work with Procurement and outside vendors as needed for Product Development and R&D.
- Participate in project meetings and collaborate closely with others within the Engineering department.
- Provide technical guidance to other areas.
- Follow established design templates procedures and work instructions.
- Comply with industry design standards and drawing standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Technical Diploma or Associates Degree in Mechanical Design, Machine Tool/CNC, or programs utilizing CAD and/or CNC programming
Experience and/or Training:
- 5+ as a mechanical designer or a CNC Programmer
Licenses/Certificates: None
Technology/Equipment:
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP system
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM Software
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or 5+ years of experience in manufacturing.
Experience and/or Training:
- 3+ years in an engineering role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design/engineering, bills of materials, routings, and manufacturing processes.
Licenses/Certificates:
- SolidWorks, Inventor, or 3D AutoCAD Certified
Technology/Equipment:
- Proficient in 3D AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks.
- Proficient working with ERP/MES (Enterprise Resource Planning/MES Manufacturing Execution Systems)
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
Sitting for long periods of time, 6-8 hours per day. Walking, speaking, hearing seeing. Listen and observe the environment for hazard prevention. Use hands for tools and typing. Semi-frequently lift up to 15 lbs. Some tasks may require the employee to bend, stoop, twist, and turn.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor office working environment. Office is temperature-controlled all year round. Minimal hazards identified.
