Location: Thorp, WI
Duration: Summer Internship (Approx. 10–12 weeks)

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and creative Product Design Intern to join our team for the summer. This role is ideal for a Junior or Senior-level student passionate about product development, design thinking, and bringing ideas to life. You will work closely with our design and engineering teams to support the development of innovative products from concept through execution.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct product market and competitive set research, analyzing trends, materials, and user needs 
  • Assist in concept development and ideation, generating innovative design solutions 
  • Create and iterate on concept designs and revisions based on team feedback 
  • Develop high-quality product renderings and presentations for internal reviews 
  • Support the creation of 3D CAD models and technical drawings 
  • Apply DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) principles in design work 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, design, engineering, and other teams 
  • Participate in problem-solving sessions and contribute creative ideas 
  • Assist in preparing documentation and materials for product development milestones 

 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field 
  • Must be a Junior or Senior-level student 
  • Basic understanding of how products are designed and manufactured 
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCad, or similar) 
  • Strong problem-solving and ideation skills 
  • Ability to communicate ideas visually and verbally 
  • Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn and take feedback 

 

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and prototyping methods 
  • Experience creating presentation decks or design storytelling 
  • Passion for product innovation and user-centered design
