Join Teledyne Scientific & Imaging as a VCSEL Manufacturing Technician!

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble and test complex electro‑optical systems, including VCSEL devices, in an advanced cleanroom manufacturing and R&D environment

  • Operate semiconductor process equipment such as pick‑and‑place, AuSn reflow soldering, wirebonding, epoxy die attach, and electro‑optical test systems

  • Perform laser alignment, characterization, and troubleshooting at the component and system level

  • Support process sustaining and new process development in collaboration with Engineering

  • Contribute to yield, throughput, and process improvements using SPC and production tracking tools

  • Support quality activities including DMRs, FAIs, inspections, and product pack‑out

  • Assist with equipment setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance to ensure high‑quality manufacturing operations

What You Need

  • High School Diploma with 3–5 years of experience in electronics, semiconductor processing, or cleanroom operations OR a recent graduate in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Materials Engineering

  • Experience working from detailed technical drawings, Work Instructions, and process documentation

  • Hands‑on experience with precision measurement tools and electro‑optical test equipment

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent manual dexterity, and outstanding visual acuity

  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision while collaborating effectively in a team environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong written and verbal communication skills

  • U.S. Citizenship required due to facility access restrictions
