What you will do:

Employee will work a 4 day 10 hour schedule as part of our Quarry operations. Will be diagnosing and repairing all mobile equipment, primarily yellow iron mining Cat equipment.  This position reports to the Quarry Manager.

  • Develops and conducts preventive maintenance plan, to include daily inspections of machinery and equipment to assure adequacy and timeliness of necessary repairs.
  • Tracks equipment hours and plans preventive maintenance for all equipment.
  • Collects oil samples and monitors results
  • Interpret manuals and troubleshooting guides, Cat sis, as required to perform repairs.
  • Requests quotes for parts needed from vendors, email quotes to manager to be ordered.
  • Track and organize incoming parts for upcoming repairs.
  • Performs safety inspections and repairs on mobile equipment.
  • Adhere to MSHA, and company safety and regulatory compliance standards
  • Communicate effectively with manager, and other departments about repair status.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

Experience and abilities you will need:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Diesel Mechanic schooling preferred
  • 2+ years of experience heavy diesel mobile equipment mechanic required
  • Basic welding skills
  • Basic fabrication and layout skills
