Job Summary:

Restaurant 1915 has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fine Dining Bartender. The Bartender is responsible for creating all guest drink orders for our restaurant and updated bistro and outdoor patio overlooking the lake. The Bartender is responsible for serving all guests beverages in a fast, courteous and efficient manner. The Bartender must ensure correct billing procedures while providing an exceptional experience for our guests. The Bartender will be able to properly mix alcoholic drinks for guests over 21 years old, as required by law. Current TIPS Certificate will be required once hired.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Greet guests in a polite, positive manner; taking beverage orders in an efficient timeframe.

  • Check patrons’ identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Answer questions about drink options and specials and take drink orders.
  • Pour, mix, and serve drinks following standard recipes.
  • Serve in a friendly, efficient manner.
  • Maintain pleasant guest experience at all times.  Check on guests periodically and attend to their needs.
  • Deliver check and completes transaction making accurate change when necessary.
  • Maintain the liquor, garnishes, glassware and other supplies or inventory for the bar.
  • Clean all bar equipment, tools, and supplies.  Ensure equipment is in good working order.
  • Perform clean-up duties after each service; and, prepares and sets up for next guest.
  • Keep assigned bar area clean and properly set up, including vacuuming and arranging tables and chairs in bar area at closing.
  • Stock bar areas with all required bar supplies.
  • Report gratuities at the end of each shift as required by Company policy and law.
  • Maintain awareness of safety issues, and report them immediately to your manager.

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

  • Partial High School education; High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred. 
  • Mathematic Skills.
  • Excellent sanitation habits.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Ability to communicate and attend to guests with the highest standard of service.
  • Ability to pass cash handling and TIPS training.
  • Problem sensitivity and the ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management. 

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit.  Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment. 
  • Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 10 lbs. regularly, 10-15 lbs. frequently, and up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to stand for the entire work day.    
  • Withstanding temperature extremes in freezer, refrigerator walk-in and grill areas.
  • Reading and writing work-related documents in English.
  • Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English.
  • Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in fast-paced unit.
  • Physical attendance in unit to perform duties.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age, as required by law.    

EQUIPMENT USED

  • Knowledge of cash register/POS system used in unit.
  • Bar equipment.
