Summary

The Internal Capacity Scheduler will be responsible for maintaining the schedule for all internal work centers and ensuring that the ERP system be kept up to date and accurate in order to ensure timely production of product to meet promised customer delivery dates. 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Responsible for generating work orders for the production department.
  • Works with engineering to ensure that routers and BOMs generated are accurate.
  • Works with senior production scheduler and sales department to ensure accuracy of sales orders being entered. 
  • Updates the production schedule daily and provides run lists for all work centers.
  • Works to maintain a level machine workload. Moves parts between work centers, when possible, to relieve capacity bottlenecks. 
  • Responsible for maintaining work center run list accuracy and adjusting schedules as necessary to ensure products are being produced in the correct time frame and quantities.
  • Works with warehousing and production personnel to correct inventory discrepancies and remake parts if necessary.
  • Works with production supervisors to correct possible data entry errors from shop floor production personnel. 
  • Other projects or duties as directed.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5  years scheduling experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
  • Familiarity with the Steel industry highly preferred.

 

 

Other Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Advanced Excel skills preferred 
  • Ability to solve problems professionally and independently, in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines
