Position Summary

The Logistics Clerk will support the logistics and supply chain team in coordinating and improving shipping and inventory management processes. This role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, offering exposure to supply chain planning, vendor coordination, and process improvement initiatives.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with coordinating and sharing daily shipping and receiving schedules with Supervisors, Sales, Customers, and Vendors.

2. Support Department Leaders to ensure orders are prepared and labeled for shipment in a timely manner.

3. Assist in overseeing the loading and receipt of goods, ensuring activities are conducted within the planned schedule.

4. Verify and keep records on outgoing shipments; assist with documentation such as bills of lading, invoices, or orders.

5. Cross-check shipping documents to sales orders for accuracy before releasing shipments.

6. Maintain shipping files and electronic records, including photos of shipments as required.

7. Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

8. Provide courteous and professional customer service to drivers, vendors, and team members.

9. Perform final audits of outbound shipments and report discrepancies.

10. Adhere to all safety and environmental policies and procedures.

11. Operates a forklift while checking inventory.

12. Assist the Logistics Clerk and other team members with assigned tasks as time allows.

13. Participate in meetings and support other projects or duties as directed.

Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:

Position Requirements:

1. High school diploma or greater.

2. Knowledgeable with industry standard computer packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel as well as Outlook.

3. Knowledge of shipping documents (BOL and packing lists).

Must be able to work as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present information in a clear and concise manner. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and ability to pay attention to detail.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
