This position ensures compliance with all applicable state EMS rules and regulations and maintains ambulance equipment and vehicles in a clean and operational condition. The Paramedic must maintain all required licenses and certifications, including a valid State of Georgia driver's license. Employees are expected to attend all mandatory training and follow company policies, medical protocols, and standing orders. Employees hired into this position are subject to a six-month introductory probationary period. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Respond to all dispatched calls for service as directed. Provide medical care and treatment to patients in accordance with company policies, protocols, and standing orders. Opportunities to provide medical care at sporting events, concerts, and other special events. Ensure ambulances and equipment are cleaned, inspected, and maintained daily. Report any deficiencies immediately to a supervisor. Complete all required documentation, including Patient Care Reports (PCRs), billing forms, exposure reports, incident reports, and vehicle/equipment checklists. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, guidelines, and operational standards. Verify that assigned vehicles meet all applicable laws, regulations, licensing requirements, and safety standards. Maintain prompt and regular attendance, including participation in mandatory meetings and training sessions. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the organization on or off duty in uniform. Remain prepared to respond to calls and maintain a state of readiness throughout assigned shifts. Work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate sound judgment in emergency situations. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of methods and techniques used in pre-hospital emergency medical care. Knowledge of approved medical protocols and standing orders. Ability to read and interpret maps and navigate service areas. Ability to manage multiple tasks in fast-paced and rapidly changing environments. Ability to read, understand, and apply medical terminology. Strong written communication skills, including report writing and documentation. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, family members, healthcare professionals, and the public. Proficiency with computers and electronic systems, including electronic patient care reporting software, email, and mobile data terminals. Ability to represent the organization professionally and deliver excellent customer service. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Working Environment Due to the nature of emergency medical services, employees may be exposed to inclement weather, hazardous conditions, infectious diseases, psychological stress, and other challenging situations. Frequent interruptions, high-pressure environments, difficult interactions, and irregular work schedules are expected. Employees may occasionally be required to attend meetings outside of normal working hours. Depending on call volume and operational needs, employees may experience extended periods without sleep, meals, or breaks.
