The role, at a glance:Â
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for planning, organizing and monitoring the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received either from suppliers or the Biamp distribution center. They will help ensure a smooth and consistent operation, so parts and supplies are located and distributed to proper areas in an effective and efficient manner. The Lead is also responsible for assisting with training new and existing employees. Â

How you’ll contribute:Â
Coordinate receiving activities to meet daily customer demandÂ
Responds to staff needs relating to technical and process issues and offers advice on proper work techniques and best practicesÂ
Verifies quality of work performed, ensuring that all process and quality procedures are understood and followed by team membersÂ
Assures all needed equipment is in the area for the employees and the equipment is ready for the following shift each dayÂ
Ensures all safety policies are understood and followed by team membersÂ
Responsible for leading tiered Daily Management System (DMS) meetingsÂ
Promotes Continuous Improvement and Lean thinking and initiatives within the teamÂ
Helps foster a culture of continuous improvement and works collaboratively to deliver measurable process gainsÂ
Oversees area cycle count activities by ensuring procedures are followed and ongoing inventory counts are maintained consistentlyÂ
Assist in the daily warehouse activities such as inventory counts, picking customer orders, and delivering material to stock areas. Process purchase orders and customer returnsÂ
Monitors, maintains and communicates all warehouse and employee related issues in a timely manner and seeks all available resources to support when needed
Encourage open communication and employee engagement to help improve employee moraleÂ
Â

Utilizing fact-based decision making and using problem solving skills to improve area performanceÂ
Leading and ensuring 6S discipline throughout assigned work areasÂ
Additional duties as assigned by SupervisorÂ
Â
A successful candidate should have:Â
Internal candidates must be at least a Production Operator IIÂ
Minimum of 3 years related work experience
Must be able to work M-F shift from 7am to 3:30pmÂ
Proficient with warehouse technology programs such as, CRM, Infor LN and Cogiscan preferredÂ
Must be forklift certified or capable of becoming forklift certified at Biamp Systems within 3Â monthsÂ
Safely operate warehouse equipmentÂ
Ability to understand part numbering systemÂ
Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles Â
Ability to adjust work pace and warehouse schedule in response to daily demandÂ
Desire and ability to find and solve problemsÂ
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
May be required to alternate schedules to meet production goalsÂ
Demonstrates excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and is able to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and diffuse challenging situations using acceptable and appropriate methodsÂ
Able to multi-task and be flexible in a dynamic work environment while maintaining strong attention to detailÂ
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint)Â

Work Environment:Â
Ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently and up to 75 lbs. periodicallyÂ
Stand or sit for long periodsÂ
Perform tasks (that may be repetitive) that require reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking, stooping and/or bendingÂ
Work in an environment that generates OSHA-permissible machine noise levelsÂ
Use tools that require fine hand skillsÂ
Visually, observe and differentiate small moving partsÂ
Ability to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required in designated areasÂ
