This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position. The Registered Nurse will work eight hours per day during a scheduled nine-hour period between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, including a one-hour unpaid lunch. There are no weekend, on-call, or callback requirements.
Overview
Join the Flight Medicine Clinic at Holloman Air Force Base and provide outpatient nursing care to active-duty service members and other eligible beneficiaries. In this role, you will perform patient assessments, triage, preventive-health services, care coordination, and telehealth nursing while collaborating with a multidisciplinary military healthcare team. Enjoy a stable Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends, on-call shifts, or callback requirements.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient care in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Facilitate optimal outcomes related to clinical care, quality, and cost effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with all established standards of care, policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines used within the military treatment facility.
- Perform physical assessments and obtain patient health histories.
- Provide direct patient care and assist in other clinical areas when patient-care needs or staffing levels require.
- Provide health-promotion services, patient counseling, preventive-care education, and immunization support.
- Coordinate pre-screening laboratory work, special supplies, and other patient needs with providers before scheduled appointments.
- Assist with walk-in appointments and follow applicable Air Force Medical Home Clinical Support Staff Protocols.
- Conduct telehealth nursing services in accordance with institutional requirements.
- Support patient care involving active-duty requirements, pediatrics, women’s health, adult care, and geriatric care.
- Maintain accurate patient-care documentation.
- Promote a collaborative team approach to nursing care and assist other healthcare personnel as needed.
- Conduct research in support of improved nursing practices and patient outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Graduate of a nursing program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience after graduation.
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or willing to obtain.
- Ability to demonstrate clinical competency within the previous two (2) years.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
Compensation
- $38.29 per hour
- $4.57 per hour in Health and Welfare benefits
