Who We Are

At Mercy Ridge, you'll have a front-row seat to the amazing life stories of some of the kindest and most wonderful people on earth. We're managed by Life Care Services (LCS), the nation's largest manager of senior living communities, and we're investing in the future of senior living by investing in our team, and our community. Β Mercy Ridge is also proud to be affiliated with Mercy Health Services and the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

Our residents already feel it: our hospitality culture scores 90%+ in resident satisfaction β€” well above industry benchmark. We're looking for a Delegating Nurse who wants to be part of a team that treats clinical excellence and genuine human connection as equally important.

The Role

This is a high-impact position. As Mercy Ridge's designated RN delegating nurse, you hold the regulatory authority to delegate and supervise nursing tasks performed by LPNs and Resident Assistants across our 47-unit Assisted Living and Memory Care program, a distinct and essential role separate from our Resident Care Manager. You'll report to the Administrator of Assisted Living and work alongside a stable, tenured leadership team. You'll assess, plan, coordinate, and monitor care for our Assisted Living residents, mentor and educate direct-care staff, and serve as a trusted clinical liaison between residents, families, and physicians.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the community's designated RN Delegating Nurse, assigning and supervising nursing tasks in accordance with DHMH and the Maryland Nurse Practice Act.
  • Assess residents and use the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate individualized physical, functional, and psychosocial care.
  • Coordinate resident Service Plans and participate in family and resident care conferences.
  • Act as liaison between residents, physicians, and families; keep families informed of changes in condition.
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, and assure effective handoff communication across shifts and departments.
  • Provide education, coaching, and competency evaluation for direct-care staff; promote staff and resident satisfaction.
  • Respond to resident and staff needs directly when hands-on support is required, including participation in the nurse manager on-call rotation.

What You Bring

  • Current Maryland RN license (BSN preferred).
  • Maryland Delegating Nurse Certification (Delegating Nurse for Assisted Living course).
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Supervisory or case management experience preferred.
  • Comfort with electronic medical record systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with federal and state regulations.

Why Mercy Ridge

  • Real pay transparency. This role is budgeted at $90,000–$105,000/year based on experience.
  • A stable, well-resourced team. You're joining a fully staffed clinical leadership structure, not walking into chaos β€” with a dedicated Wellness / Medical Office, operated by Mercy Health Services/Maryland Family Care, consistent scheduling and stable staffing.
  • A hospitality-first culture. Our residents already rate the way our team makes them feel above the industry certification threshold β€” you'll be joining a culture that's already working, not one you have to build from scratch.
  • Room to grow. Tuition reimbursement and a clearly defined scope of authority mean this role is a foundation, not a ceiling.

Benefits

  • Health benefit coverage. Mercy Ridge contributes generously towards the health insurance premium for individual and family medical coverage, including a contribution towards the deductible on the high-deductible plan and voluntary participation into a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Dependent Care FSA.
  • Paid time off. Up to 17 PTO days (this includes personal time, vacation and sick as part of the MHWFA) in years 1–5, growing to 22 days after year 5 β€” plus six observed holidays, a birthday holiday, and a multicultural holiday of your choice in a calendar year.
  • Retirement & protection. 401(k) with company match (age 21+, 6 months of employment), company-paid Group Term Life Insurance, other voluntary benefits: AFLAC (STD- short-term disability), legal resources, and Long-Term Care with a Life Insurance Rider.
  • Growth & wellness. Tuition reimbursement, a wellness credit, an Employee Assistance Program, and an annual Wellness Fair with vendor giveaways.
  • The everyday extras. Enjoy one complimentary meal per shift, weekly Ice Cream Thursdays, an employee referral incentive, and a recognition program that includes birthday movie tickets, a Thanksgiving turkey, and other appreciation events throughout the year.
