Mercy Ridge Retirement Community is seeking a Renovations Technician to join our Facilities team. This position is primarily responsible for performing apartment renovation services to include demolition, construction and installation of walls and cabinets as well as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, mechanical, general maintenance, painting, and punch-list corrections for residential units. 


Additionally, this position may be responsible for special projects and/or general and preventative maintenance repairs on all physical structures and certain facility equipment, as well as grounds maintenance, storm clean-up and snow removal in compliance with established safety rules, policies and procedures. 


Schedule:

  • Full-time, non-exempt position, which may include overtime on an as needed basis.
  • Requires being on an on-call/weekend rotation, which is approximately 4 times per year. 
  • Responds to and is on-call for all disaster emergencies such as: snow, fire, ice storms, tornados, floods, smoke, alarms.

Qualification/Job Specifications

  • Requires a High School education or GED; graduate of accredited technical school preferred (but not required). 
  • A minimum of one to three years of hands-on painting, maintenance, construction and/or mechanical experience. 
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and clearly with employees, vendors, residents, family members, visitors and the general public.
  • Must possess and exhibit a strong positive attitude toward customer service and have a genuine interest in the senior population and uphold the philosophy of the community.
