Laboratory Shipping and Receiving Support Specialist
Job Summary:
The Shipping and Receiving Specialist supports laboratory operations by ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant handling of incoming and outgoing shipments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments, including reagents, supplies, equipment, requisitions and/or other laboratory items.
- Maintain documentation and ensure package integrity, including temperate control when required.
- Receive, inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders or packing lists.
- Properly label, log and distribute laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, both physically and in inventory systems.
- Operate shipping systems and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) for tracking and documentation.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for temperature sensitive items.
- Maintain a clean, organized and complaint shipping and receiving area.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment.
- Other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1–3 years of shipping/receiving, laboratory support, or healthcare logistics experience.
- Basic computer skills, including inventory and tracking systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in a CLIA-certified laboratory
- Experience handling biological specimens or laboratory supplies.
- Familiarity with laboratory workflows.
