Laboratory Shipping and Receiving Support Specialist 


Job Summary: 

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist supports laboratory operations by ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant handling of incoming and outgoing shipments. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments, including reagents, supplies, equipment, requisitions and/or other laboratory items. 
  • Maintain documentation and ensure package integrity, including temperate control when required. 
  • Receive, inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders or packing lists. 
  • Properly label, log and distribute laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment. 
  • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records, both physically and in inventory systems. 
  • Operate shipping systems and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) for tracking and documentation. 
  • Ensure proper storage conditions for temperature sensitive items. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized and complaint shipping and receiving area. 
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment. 
  • Other tasks as needed. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • 1–3 years of shipping/receiving, laboratory support, or healthcare logistics experience.
  • Basic computer skills, including inventory and tracking systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience working in a CLIA-certified laboratory
  • Experience handling biological specimens or laboratory supplies.
  • Familiarity with laboratory workflows.
