The Licensed Electrician supports operation, inspection and maintenance processes to mechanical building equipment and systems. The position is located at Kennedy Space Center, FL 32815, with work schedules supporting a 24×7 critical operation. The Electrician oversees the daily operation of critical building electrical systems and associated equipment including electrical distribution, emergency systems, lighting, etc. Must be willing to work out of trade when necessary and assist other tasks outside of the electrical field. Requires strong working knowledge of national electrical code and a high level of technical expertise with building infrastructure. Availability for on-call work and off-hours shifts including evenings, nights, and weekends is required. Duties include conduit installation, motor control circuitry, switch gear maintenance, cable termination, reading electrical prints and schematic drawings, working with low and medium voltages, troubleshooting electrical controls, knowledge of VFDs, controllers, lighting systems, UPSs, generators, and various electrical systems (24, 48, 120, 480 volts). Must be capable of using tools and equipment associated with the craft, comprehend job-related work permits, complete Job Hazard Analysis, and perform work wearing personal protective equipment as necessary. Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces, comply with hazardous materials policies, maintain compliance with ordinances, codes, and laws, and document work performance and materials procurement. Physical requirements include ability to lift 50 lbs, operate electric hand tools, work on ladders, and work in all weather conditions. Must provide proof of US Citizenship due to federal government regulations. Required skills include a High School diploma/GED, Journeymen’s Electrical License with 5+ years licensed, valid state driver’s license, relevant work experience in commercial/industrial maintenance, experience with Microsoft Office, CMMS and/or BMS, customer service skills, team player, conflict resolution, and knowledge of NEC, OSHA standards, and local codes. Preferred skills include military service, union training, vocational or college education, and Corrigo CMMS exposure.
