General Description:
Advances the mission of the Hospital by increasing the level of involvement and philanthropic commitment of people in the Hospital’s service area. Under the general supervision of the JPMF Director, serves as the philanthropy officer. Raises funds through individual solicitations, special projects, and special events. Oversees annual and corporate events and directs donor recognition programs as well as special projects. Supervises the office, staff and volunteers in the absence and unavailability of the Director. 
The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice® and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for a list of corporate and business gift prospects, builds relationships and goes on calls with volunteers; writes and/or coordinates the production of proposals to local companies and/or employee foundations.
  • Coordinates annual events, including serving as staff liaison to the event committees and overseeing all committee activities. 
  • Coordinates Pauline Bryan Society and Kentucky Derby Soiree ensuring annual campaign goals are met and refresher campaigns implemented.
  • Responsible for daily data input, edits, postings, database growth and the management of its integrity.  
  • Develops and recommends Foundation acknowledgement process. 
  • Coordinates donor recognition activities, including donor displays and recognition events.
  • Coordinates philanthropic activities for specific centers of excellence or service lines, such as The Children’s Center ensuring fund raising goals are met.
  • Creates and implements special projects that support fund development goals or community awareness.
  • Writes, prepares and delivers presentations to groups and individuals.
  • Participates in major gift prospect planning, cultivation, asking for and closing major gifts and donor stewardship activities
  • Works in conjunction with and/or serves as the back up to the JPMF database and website administrator to maximize effectiveness of data, queries, and reporting.
  • Assists on grant team and coordinates the preparation and submission of grant applications and/or proposals according to the required format. Assures quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
  • Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as pertains to the work area.
Requirements:

Formal Education:
  •  Associate’s Degree or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Work Experience:
  •  1- 5 years in the nonprofit sector with fundraising, public relations, publications and/or event management experience required.
