INSPECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Schedules:

3 pm – 11 pm / Monday - Friday

Wage: $19.00 per hour

Prior steel mill or industrial furnace experience (preferred)

Tow motor and crane experience (required)

Insurance Benefits start 1st day of employment

Basic ResponsibilitiesĀ 

  • Confirms grade with grade listed on work instructions.
  • Verifies all bars in order comply with customer requirements for length, widths, thickness and surface finish and hardness.
  • Visually inspects bars for compliance with Quality Workmanship Standards QS-038.
  • Properly marks individual identification on each bar.
  • Properly records all information on the Final Dimensional Report Form.
  • Able to read and understand work instructions.
  • Assists shipper as required.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Tools/equipment used: measuring tape, micrometers, profilometer, air polisher, scale, no-touch tools, crane, tow motor.
