The Position

  • Enjoy working as part of our expanding neurology program, providing comprehensive inpatient neurological consultation and management for a wide range of acute and complex conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with hospitalists and specialists across disciplines, including cardiovascular, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, critical care, and other medical specialties.
  • Participate in care coordination, discharge planning, and transitions of care, including providing outpatient clinical care to support patients following discharge and throughout care transitions.
  • Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical practice initiatives.
  • Participate in education and mentorship of advanced practice providers, and other members of the healthcare team, as applicable.
  • Opportunity for hybrid position to include providing some general and/or sub-specialized stroke follow up neurology care in our ambulatory clinics (located in Southern Marin and Novato).
  • 24/7 tele neurology backup coverage.

    The Position Requirements

    • M.D. or D.O.
    • Fellowship training in Neurohospitalist medicine, Stroke or Vascular Neurology preferred.
    • Board certified or eligible (with intent to become certified within 1 year)
    • Licensed or eligible for licensure in California.
    • Practice evidence based medicine and possess a strong philosophy of excellence in patient care and excellence in the overall patient experience
    • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to develop strong relationships with patients, as well as sensitivity to cultural and linguistic differences.

      Compensation & Benefits

      • The salary range for this position is $325,000 - $375,000. Final determination of starting pay may vary based on factors such as practice experiences and patient care schedules. Additional pay may be determined for candidates that exceed specific qualifications and requirements.
      • Comprehensive benefits package (for employed position) including medical, dental, and vision insurance, Long Term Disability (LTD) and basic life insurance, with a voluntary life insurance option, EAP and a retirement plan with employer match.

MarinHealth Neurology offers comprehensive ambulatory treatment to patients with conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s and other movement disorders; memory loss/Dementia/Alzheimer’s; neuromuscular disorders; concussion & brain injury; spine; neuropathic pain; headaches & migraines; brain tumors; Epilepsy; and TIA/stroke. MarinHealth Medical Center is a designated Primary Care Stroke Center and is the only hospital in the North Bay to be named a Five-Star Recipient in the Treatment of Stroke™ by Healthgrades.
