Food Service Manager - Concessions (Full-Time)

The Toledo Zoo is currently seeking a full-time Food Service Manager of Concessions. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking, organized individual interested in working in a high volume and fast-paced environment while supporting our mission to: Enjoy. Inspire. Educate. Act!

This position is responsible for planning, supervision and coordination of activities and operations of all Food Service areas. Duties will include supervision of subordinate staff in the preparation of food, assurance that proper inventory levels are maintained and declares that all labor, cost and revenue standards are met. In addition, this individual will prepare annual budget and income projections, adhere to proper cash handling procedures, and maintain cleanliness/ safety of Concession and Catering areas.

The Food Service Manager reports to the Assistant Director of Front-of-House Operations. This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and requires time worked in excess of forty hours per week.

Minimum Training and Experience

• Preference of degree in Food Services, Business, or related field and three to five years of experience in food service management, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
• Must possess the required certification in Food Service sanitation.
• Must have a valid drivers’ license and be insurable by the fleet insurance carrier.
• Must be at least 21+ years of age.
• The Toledo Zoo is a drug-free workplace, including marijuana.
