RFS Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and engaging Therapeutic Behavioral Support Provider (TBSP) to provide behavioral health support to students within a Special Education (SPED) school setting in Toledo, Ohio.

This position is ideal for someone who has a passion for working with youth who may have behavioral, emotional, developmental, or social needs and understands the importance of meeting each student where they are.

As a SPED TBSP, you will work directly with students while collaborating with families, school personnel, therapists, and other members of the treatment team to help students develop the skills they need to be successful at school, at home, and in the community.

What You'll Do

As a Therapeutic Behavioral Support Provider, you will:

  • Provide individualized therapeutic behavioral support to students within a special education environment.
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Help students identify and practice healthy coping skills, emotional regulation, problem-solving, communication, and social skills.
  • Provide behavioral interventions and support based on each student's individual needs and treatment goals.
  • Recognize behavioral triggers, warning signs, and escalation patterns and respond using appropriate intervention and de-escalation techniques.
  • Support students during challenging behaviors while promoting safety, dignity, and positive behavioral choices.
  • Reinforce treatment goals and behavioral strategies throughout the school day.
  • Collaborate with therapists, teachers, intervention specialists, school administrators, parents/guardians, and other members of the student's care team.
  • Communicate appropriately with parents and caregivers regarding services and student progress when applicable.
  • Assist students with developing skills that promote greater independence and success within the school environment.
  • Provide services in the school, home, or community as clinically appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided.
  • Complete required progress notes and other documentation within agency-established timelines.
  • Participate in treatment planning, team meetings, staff meetings, trainings, and other required activities.
  • Follow all RFS Behavioral Health policies, school policies, confidentiality requirements, and applicable behavioral health standards.

  • Organized and able to manage documentation and service responsibilities effectively.
  • Able to maintain professionalism and sound judgment in a fast-paced school environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, Human Services, Sociology, Child Development, or a related behavioral health/human services field preferred.
  • Relevant experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with disabilities, behavioral health populations, or within a special education setting is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with behavioral interventions, crisis prevention, de-escalation, case management, youth services, or school-based services is a plus.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all required pre-employment and credentialing requirements, including applicable background checks and drug screening.
  • Must meet applicable requirements for the position and behavioral health services provided.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel as required for the position.
