General Summary:Â
Â
Perform circulating and scrubbing, holding, and/or PACU duties in the ASC for Vascular procedures.
Works under the supervision of the ASC Director of Surgical Services

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:Â
Example of Essential Duties:
- Develops a plan of care based on patient health care data, procedure to be performed, and expected patient outcomes.
- Assists the physician by preparing, monitoring, educating, and/or recovering the patient in ASC.
- Assists the physician to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
- Maintains documentation of nursing process for the care of the operative patient.
- Evaluates changes in procedure and updates physician preference cards.
Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to):
- Prepares, cleans, and sterilizes instruments for surgeries.
- Assists in counting sponges, sharps, and instruments.
- Participates in Quality Assurance/Improvement.
- Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:Â
Required:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.Â
- Maintains aseptic technique in accordance with AORN/ASPAN standards.Â
- Adheres to Universal Precaution Standards and clinic Policies and Procedures.Â
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.Â
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.Â
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
 - Adheres to clinic’s policies and procedures.
Education:Â
- Associates degree, Bachelor’s degree, or diploma in Nursing and Current State licensure in good standing required.
Â
Preferred:
- BLS and ACLS preferred.Â
- Previous vascular OR experience preferred.Â
