Job Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor is directly responsible for warehouse, product and inventory oversight of their designated shift. This includes all corresponding warehouse activities that may include but is not limited to picking, shipping, receiving, put away, returns, inventory control, and customer service. This position is a working supervisor role that spends the majority of the time on the warehouse floor coaching, leading, delegating and accomplishing the designated responsibilities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gain necessary knowledge of procedures that include areas of inbound, outbound (including RJS deliveries), and identification, traceability, handling, and storage processes to ensure efficient completion of daily warehouse operations.
  • Gain necessary knowledge of all warehouse equipment including RF Units, forklifts, order pickers, shrink wrap machines, pallets jacks, scales, and other equipment as needed to perform the responsibilities of the position.
  • Gain necessary knowledge of payroll and personnel software, Eclipse, Solar Eclipse, Starship, Document Processing, and any other software needed to perform the functions of the position.
  • Engage and collaborate with Warehouse Management and HR regarding personnel and disciplinary issues.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse Management to fulfill staffing plans and meet labor budget. 
  • Schedule and assign appropriate staff based on daily operational needs.
  • Perform, investigate, and notify Warehouse Management of inventory adjustments.
  • Ensure completion of cycle counts and adjustments to meet inventory accuracy goals
  • Collaborate with Warehouse Management to monitor and communicate appropriate warehouse operational metrics.
  • Monitor warehouse status queues and ensure proper lead times are being maintained.
  • Research all variances from the transfer shipping and receiving reports 
  • Coordinate and schedule incoming and outgoing shipments and deliveries.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Management to identify and assess ongoing recommendations for building, equipment, and other resources needed including the annual budgeting process.
  • Certify new employees on forklift equipment and train on processes and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility and manage a regular maintenance plan for the equipment, vehicles, and building including building security.
  • Ensure all health and safety rules and preventative maintenance guidelines are followed for the facility and equipment.
  • Address all safety issues timely and report concerns to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Report any injuries or accidents to the Operations Manager and Human Resources immediately.
  • Perform all aspects of the Warehouse Associates responsibilities as needed to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Work with Warehouse Manager and Human Resources to develop and implement training materials and standardized work processes for all departments within the operation.
  • Participate in training of associates to develop and cross-train staff appropriately
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • 3 years of supervisory experience in warehouse or distribution environment
  • 1-3 years ERP/WMS experience
  • 3+ years forklift experience preferred
  • Demonstrates proficiency in warehouse process and procedures.
  • Ability to identify problems quickly and implement appropriate solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to achieve quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and detail orientation.
  • Ability to adjust to differing personalities and build relationships within a diverse team.
