We are currently looking for an experienced Industrial Sewer to be responsible for all facets of set-up and operation of an industrial sewing machine for the purpose of ensuring quality items. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial sewing, heavy stitching, and the ability to interpret work orders with a variety of instructions.
To excel in this role, you should have in-depth knowledge of Industrial Sewing and how to operate the equipment skillfully and safely. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
• Knowledge of upholstery tools including industrial sewing machine, hot cutting knife, scissors, rotary, and straight edge cutters,Â
and electric fabric cutters
• Ability to read and understand highly detailed Engineering Drawings
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Must be highly organized and be able to plan around set deadlines
• Proven work experience as an industrial sewer/upholsterer
• Must have excellent attention to detail
• Ability to draw and interpret designs
• Must have a positive, teamwork attitude above all else
• High school diploma or equivalent
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Fast-paced environment with others relying on completion of tasks
• Standing/walking often - throughout the facility
• Shop environment is without AC and can be hot; fans are available in some areas of the building
• Dress code is casual: safety–toed work boots or other leather-type material, no tank tops
• All employees are required to wear eye protection while in the shop
SCHEDULE
• 8-hour day shift
• Monday through Friday, some weekends may be required
COMPENSATION
• Non-Exempt position; Salary range: $16.90 - $19.00 an hour
• Final compensation will be determined and based on experience
• This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary for this position, based on a wide range of factors including
qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs, and other considerations permitted by law
• Quarterly bonus option available for most employees
